Adopting instead of Purchase

This is the project I do for China Small Animal Protection Associatiom.People in charge of public-interest ad want some photo about the stray dog.To call on people Adopting instead of Purchase.

After talked to her,I suggest to take four series photos about the stray dogs both inside the pound and outside.Use four kinds of color to explaim different mood of Independent,Lonly,Fun and Sad.After taking photos with the dogs.I try to let people more easy to understand the ad.Each series I add one photo about the toy dog.Contrast with the real dog , and talking about the story.

 You will never let your faves toy outside to face to Dangours,Hunger,Destroy.
                         Quite apart from , it is not a toy.

PP2 project: Change

This is a big work spend lots of time on it.Since last year I took photos for this topic is the last working week for the Beijing Capital iron and steel enterprise. After some day I got the message from my friend who is working in the project called Change.The city change in every moment, maybe good, maybe bad.  Someone happy,someone sad. I tried to talk to the editer of the local magzine about my idea for the project.

I want to still report the moving of Beijing Capital iron and steel enterprise and try to contract someone else can help me to take photo inside the factory.(because after Jan 2011,the factory not allow anybody go inside)
I want to report the story of this moving iron and steel city for three periods.First, Last working day of the Beijing Capital iron and steel enterprise before move.This scence will never reappear again.From 1919-2009,this factory like a city,it's floor space are 1620 thousand sq. m. There are 80 thousand people work in here.

From Jan 2011,this 90 years old big iron and steel city declared stop production and move out of Beijing city.The whole place become quite and deserted.
Its future has not been determined,but it may become another ART WORLD.

More and more factory are move out of the city because of the environment pollution and shortage of location.But what will substitute them? Autoeciousness become more and more polular in the city side. They save the valu of the history and become a sign of Art.

The change will not stop never.All we can do just made the change better.

In this project I use three different tone and hue to translate the story.Use black and white film photo to explaim the change is history. The history of the factory ,people who work and lived there and the pollution.Give the audience the feeling of pass. And use low saturation to report the recentry of the factory.People trying do something to solve the problem of pollution,try to change. The busy factory in the olden days become lost. Everyone follow the future of this big factory closely,what it will be? More and more uptown?refuse site?or another Art area like 798 in Beijing. All the media suppose that the factory become a big Art world is the best way for saving the valu of the history. We can see the picture of 798,all the studios ,art,exhibition room sojourn on the old factory which stop prodution several years ago. The designers make the place viable but still keep the factory as it come.

Leica Summarit-M，Change of Leica

Leica was issued four lens called Summarit-M，Erwin Puts bewrited a report to talk about the design and the change of  product strategy with the  new Leica lens.

In fact, Leica as the best of  lens factory for 135 area give a bad account of oneself in this two years.The price of the lens remain high.Even the lens Summarit-M come out with the 'good price for the good lens',still very expansive.

As we can see,the price letting Leica far away from the photographer now.

What ever,Leica still my favorite.

1.The new Summarit-M continue Leica len's pursue of quality and standard.From the imaging,the test sounds that,Summarit-M as good as Summicron.

2.Leica still face to the trouble of economic globalization，it is very hard for Leica to join into the system of economic globalization because of the culture history of Euro.Resolve the problem of cost become a big problem.
3.Summarit-M of Leica is design for the M8 and M7.Go with Summarit-M, M8 and M7 can more convenient to put in to the hand bag.

4.The biggest competitor of new Summarit-M lens are not Zeiss or Cosina，but the Summicron of Leica in the Second-hand Market.

About the Street photography between London and Beijing

That day I got a brief of London street photography through the ages from my tutor.That's a very  interesting topic.As we know,the history of London, its murderers and heroes, its keepers and denizens, can be found in its streets as in no other city in the world. Like the city itself the images on display are full of grief, irony and delight, sometimes touched by madness, sometimes by desire.

Compare with Beijing street photography's history.20 years before,people in Beijing less communicate with each other.Lots of photography are just about the building and the street. They were busy with make a living.But from this years,everything change,you could not find this beijing anymore now.

These days I m looking for some information about lens for my lecture.And my topic of the lecture is Principle to support the choice of lens in Documentary Photography.I tried to explaim what lens should be use most in Documentary Photography,and analyse them.I want to give some propose in the end.What ever,I think all the photos depends on the topic and the photographer's personal preference. But the good lens alway cost a lot of money.Sometimes we can't buy all the lens.For the one lazy to take a lot of lens.It inclued the wide-angle lens ,standar lens and Telephoro lens.Good for test.

When I first time to see Chiharu Shiota's work is her show in in Silence 2008.The netted line with detailed to the piano.I like it so much .I m so interesting in how she made it?

The work of After the dream shows convulsion.She made the huge black hole with soft yarn.Looks like you can touch it.

Review of Hokkaido

Name of the book: Hokkaido

Author: Moriyama Daido

publication time: 2008 (Limited 1500)

This book looks like a panoramic view of Hokkaido. The film with coarse granule but shows delicate. The pictures not only high contrast but also to express the details. After I saw the photos, I can see the view of the different weather, and feeling the element of women ,naive children ,animals.  There are the view of Hokkaido from Moriyama Daido's camera. He used the same way to talk about Japan and human emotion. He has no idea why he would be interesting in the topic about this dark area.

He said, Maybe the whole city is made of labyrinth, Drive me crazy.

Why I want to recommend this book called Hokkaido?

Because not only the photos, but also his own emotion in that time shows Moriyama Daido's resolution of photos accumulate. I didn't see the real book because it is limited. It is 5.2 kg. And large quantity of works in this photography collection is the most huge one of Moriyama Daido. From his 30 years visual work in this book shows the professional design, print and bookbinding.

Why most photographer preferred Black and White photography to colour photography in Documentary photography?

As a Documentary Photography student.I prefer to use Black and White.

Comparing Black and White photography with colour photography :

Both Black and White photography and colour photography have their own characters and fascination.

1)Colour photos have more functions and look more real.But after analysis, we can find that the advantages of the colour photos are not stable. Therefore, the value of the Black and White photos never depreciate. The Digital Camera brings colour photos a piece of view while the Black and White photos still do the best in reporting and showing the real world .

2)Black and White photos can make people to think more.Actually camera can show everything, just like a mirror. It still has the functions like conversion and  abstraction. And we can find that these functions in Black and White photos are very strong. The Black and White photos not only mirror the fact，but it also can draw the audience’s attention to the purpose of the photographers. The Black and White photos can oblige us to think more and clearer about the value of our photos and start to plan our photos. This is the best way to shoot the excellent photos as we want.

3)Black and White photos can affect audience.The colour photos can show the fact of the view, but the Black and White photos can bring the idea of photographers to the audience from the way of inspiration. It does not just show whether the pictures are beautiful or not. It talks about the emotion with the audience, according to Sun,F.  (2009)

For example, the part with dark in the Black and White can bring the audience loneliness and mystique while the bright part can make the audience feeling vivid and happiness.

Moreover, the Black and White photos can generate a new face for the topic everyone knows. In this way, the Black and White photos can surpass their topics and make originality. The Black and White photos can keep their own values.

4)Black and White photos have more control than colour photos. When photographers want to improve the strength of the visual impact of the information,they can use the tone and the key to set off the topic. The tutor in my BA course once said to me that “we can use the Black and White photos to control the audience. I can control the tone and key whilst letting people still see the colour inside the photos. The colour is in your heart, not in your eyes.” What the advantage do Black and White photos have while the colour photos do not have is the power to control. Even in the landscape photography, we still can find something different from the picture.
